Tyra Banks Dislikes White Limos, Teddy Bears

Pet peeves of celebrities

(MYFOX NATIONAL) - Celebrities have many likes and dislikes and it is the people who work closely with them on the inside who learn firsthand what makes them tick.

According to The New York Post's Page Six , Tyra Banks' former publicist, Jon Paul Buchmeyer, revealed the daytime talk show host's inner-workings in a new tell-all book, titled "Alphabet City: My So-Called Sitcom Life."

"Tyra thinks white limos are tacky," wrote Buchmeyer, who was once mistaken as Banks' boy-toy, in his memoir, which also detailed his relationships working with Whoopi Goldberg and Vanessa Williams.

The rep to the stars, who worked closely with Banks during her "Inside & Out" book tour in the late '90s, was warned by the diva that "anyone that showed up at a book signing offering a stuffed animal probably needs a security escort."

And on Buckmeyer's ABC City Blog , he writes about a mishap with Goldberg's Oscar that she won for her performance in "Ghost" and her deranged cat.

The celebrity publicist was reaching to get a closer look at the golden statuette that she kept in her study, when her cat – that she adopted after he survived a fire in Queens, N.Y. – pounced on his head from a hiding place.

Buckmeyer wrote that he would never forget the grace Goldberg displayed when she discovered he had dropped the heavy award on the floor, even giving him a hug and words of encouragement on his new career.

And while celebrity publicist Max Clifford may not work directly with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, from an inside perspective he told the Irish Times that: "The reality of it is that, with many of the clients that I’ve represented in the last 40 years, the [fairytale] image out there is totally misrepresenting the reality."

Clifford said the "clever" relationship the hot Hollywood couple has with the media is mutually beneficial. "They sell, so the media goes after them. And because it’s well handled and well controlled by them, they become bigger and bigger and sell even more."
