(MYFOX NATIONAL) - It’s not uncommon once celebrities make it big for people who were once friends to come out of the woodwork, either to cash in on them or to win their own claim to fame.
And according to Lisa Ellis, Wyclef Jean’s former manager, it is no different for her.
A full-frontal image of the publicist -- who managed the likes of Prince, Beyonce, Destiny’s Child and John Legend for 15 years – has been circulating around the who’s who of the music industry, sparking rumors that she was fired because of it.
But according to the New York Post.com's Page Six , Ellis denied she had done anything wrong and explained that the photo was taken by Haitian photographer, Marc Baptiste, who makes a living off shooting nudes for artistic purposes.
"That photograph was taken for a book. Someone somehow got a hold of it and is now using it against me," she told Page Six this week. "I quit being Wyclef's manager just because I don't like the way he does business. The photo has nothing to do with anything, but now there's this completely made-up, falsified story about it."
Meanwhile, Jean’s rep refused to comment on the scandal: "Wyclef is spending all his time trying to rebuild Haiti and will have no comment on any of these false rumors."
Ellis isn’t the only one in the R&B industry who has face a racy photo leak recently.
According to ContactMusic.com , rapper Trina – who is currently working on her fifth album, featuring the “Million Dollar Girl” single with Diddy -- just enlisted the FBI after explicit photos of her were disclosed online that were taken from her stolen cell phone.
She told MTV.com : "So now I'm actually having it looked into by the FBI and it's gonna be a bigger situation than just leaked photos. Hopefully we can deal with the situation and put an end to it."
